Co to říká?
Morčátka jsou opravdu velice hovorná zvířátka a jak já říkám, kecy mají skoro u všeho! Když 
ale těm ,,kecům, kručení a kvikání" chceme porozumět, měli bychom rozlišovat několi krůzných zvuků, které morčata vydávají.
,,uííí, uííí, uíííí ...." - tak takhle se vás morčátko bude většinou dovolávat o jídlo. Kvikot je plynule a rychle za sebou, občas přestávka aby se mohli nadechnout ... a znovu uííí uííí...
,,Uíííí ..... uíííí" - pomalejší a přerušované hlasité kvíknutí. Morčeti se něco vyloženě nelíbí, nebo ho něco bolí.
,,cvakcvakcvakcvak..." - morče rychle cvaká zuby. Je vyděšené a bojí se. V přírodě se takto samečci vyzívají na souboj.
,,Brrr!" - otřesení, zavrčení s tímto zvukem. Třeba když je nečekaně namočíte!
,,Čut, čut, čut.." - veselé kvokání když něco s chutí zkoumají a někde pobíhají...
,,Vrrrruuuuuuuu..." - tento bublavý, vrkavý zvuk, jakoby vrčení, vydávají morčata když je hladíte a moc se jim to líbí, nebo samečci při námluvách. Morče se u něho jakoby chvěje a pokud ho brbete třeba pod bradou nebo na boku, slastně se protahuje...

Také mnoho o rozpoložení morčátka nám může poradit jeho chování. Tady jsou některé typické postoje a gesta, která morčátka s chutí používají ...
- Když je chováte, nevrle poposedávají a šťouchají vám čumáčkem do ruky. - Toto nejspíše znamená že morče už má laskání dost a taky asi potřebuje nutně na záchod, takže pokud nechcete sušit oblečení, raději ho pusťte do klece. Ale šťouchání čumáčkem do rukou může mít také význam že chce něco k snědku, případně podrbat.
- Morče sedí jako přikované a ani se nehne. - Tomu se říká stav strnulosti. Patří to mezi jejich instinkty a mnohdy jim to v přírodě může zachránit život před dravci, kteří loví jen to, co se pohybuje. Pokud třeba morče pustíte do neznámého velkého prostoru, nejspíše se vrhne ke stěně a dlouho se nebude hýbat. Když zjistí, že se žádná pohroma nekoná, rychle se osmělí a začne s kokáním studovat nový objekt.
- Morčata běhají za sebou jako sjednaná v husím pochodu, kamkoliv se skupinka pohne. - Tento instinkt má také kořeny v divoké přírodě. Když má matka mladé, sama od sebe ji následují, aby se ve vysoké trávě nestratila. Pokud se to stane, mláďátka spustí kvikot a matka je brzy vyhledá a znovu zapojí do husího pochodu. Ale i dospělá morčata se takto pohybují.
